Lead cisterns were made in large quantities during the 17th and 18th centuries, many of which are still in place today. During this time they were mainly used to store rainwater however nowadays most cisterns we sell are used as planters or are adapted for use as fountain pools.
The traditional patterning taken from the time is the geometric strap-work design, which is classed as a true classic English lead planter pattern. We also welcome ideas through our bespoke service, where we can also incorporate special dates or logos as desired.
Our lead cisterns can be made with most of our traditional lead planter patterns, or to a bespoke design, shape and size that suits your requirements. All our lead-work is maintenance free, and frost proof, indeed the elements will only enhance their appearance.
